Why I’m Building Odd Little Games

Like a lot of developers, I have a folder full of half-finished ideas.

For years I’ve wanted to build games – not massive AAA experiences or sprawling RPGs—but the kind of games you can jump into, take your turn, and come back to later. Games that are easy to learn, rewarding to master, and fun to play with friends.

So I finally decided to stop planning and start building.

That became Odd Little Games.

The idea is simple: create a growing collection of casual, turn-based multiplayer games that anyone can pick up in a few minutes. Some will be inspired by classic games, others will be completely original, but they’ll all share the same philosophy: simple rules, meaningful decisions, and “just one more turn” gameplay.

The project is still in its early days, and that means you’re seeing it as it grows.

At the moment there are two games available to play in beta:

  • Salient Front – a traditional hex-based strategy game where two factions fight for control across an industrial continent.
  • Cold March – a tactical card battler where every decision can mean surviving another round… or not making it to morning.

They’re both very much works in progress. You’ll find placeholder artwork, rough edges, and undoubtedly a few bugs along the way. That’s all part of the process.

What I’m really looking for right now is feedback.

If something doesn’t feel right, tell me. If you find a bug, let me know. If you have an idea that would make one of the games more fun, I’d genuinely love to hear it. Building games is far more enjoyable when people are playing them and helping shape what they become.

You can find everything over at Odd Little Games:

If you’d like to follow development a little more closely—or simply help support the project—I’ve also set up a Patreon:

Patrons will be helping fund development costs and will get an early look at new games, updates, and experiments as the collection grows.

This isn’t about building the next blockbuster. It’s about making interesting little games that people enjoy spending time with.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, I’d love for you to come along for the journey.n project I wantedo promote
